A complete, research-based program guiding your child from mastering letter sounds to reading any word—step by step—building the foundation for confident, fluent reading.
Before we lift off... Here's a short preflight checklist.
Learning to read begins with understanding the sounds of each letter, unlocking the secret code of words. Start your child's early reading adventure with our clear, step-by-step path below.
After learning all the alphabet sounds, the only thing standing between your child and reading independently is sounding out words! To sound out a word, say each letter sound. Once your child knows all the letter sounds, they can read by themselves.
Introduction instructions: Read our Sounding Out Words Tutorial to begin!
Practice instructions: Let your child try the word first. If they get stuck, use the double arrow [ » ] as your main tool—it will walk them through the blend, step by step. The single arrows [ › ] provide extra help: if a blended chunk is tricky, use them to break it down and hear its individual sounds. Use the image as a final hint!
Mastery level: Move to the next level when your child can correctly read all words consistently over 3 practice sessions, shows confidence, and rarely needs the arrow buttons or visual cues for help.
